Ooh I may pick up the EMDR book! I actually got EMDR treatment and it was really effective. I didn't experience extremely intense emotions like I heard from other people, but the treatment did work really well. (I was in therapy for two years with the same therapist before we even started it though. That might have helped with how smooth it went.) My therapist always encouraged me to read about the treatments she used and ask about them. I am no longer in therapy but the readings we did made me really interested in psychology and I still read about it.

If you haven’t read Vera Wong’s unsolicited advice for murders. I highly recommend it. It’s not exactly cosy but lots of great characters, I loved Vera and it’s fun and I think you might enjoy it x

The first time i ever heard of Rilke was by Stefan Sweig in his memoir ''The World of Yesterday'' wich is an incredible book and he quickly became my favorite author

I also love The body keeps the score, through which I found EMDR❤! If you find patient- therapist relationship interesting, read Lori Gottlieb's Maybe you should talk to someone, I enjoyed it a lot!👋

If one more persons recommends The Housekeeper and the Professor to me I'm going to have to read it. If you're looking for mathy romance with a touch of trauma check out The Solitude of Prime Numbers by Paolo Giordano 🌊

I too recently read The Wizards Guide to Defensive Baking, and given that I bake sourdough as a side gig and fantasy is one of my favourite genres, I was hoping it would be 5 stars. I too was pretty disappointed. It started off strong but it was just so predictable and… boring.

100% the wayfarer series by becky chambers is cosy slice of life sci fi!! its a series but each book could be a standalone in the same universe, very found family, amazing characters and great plot

A thriller about math AND a scifi book is Ninefox Gambit, if you’d like to check it out. And other people have already recommended Becky Chambers for cozy scifi and I agree

if you want cozy sci-fi read How High We Go in the Dark- it’s a collection of futuristic short stories that speculate on the future of technology and climate change. It’s not heavy on the “cozy” because it can be a little dark, but 100% slice of life. It’s beautiful, it changed my life, please please read it
